How to restrict HR admin access by department or location

The HR admin role can be limited to only apply to a selected department or location

The HR admin role has broad powers, including the ability to view people reports, view and edit company documents, view and edit people information, and more. For organizations who have a manager or supervisor responsible for a specific location or department, Eddy can limit the permissions of an HR admin to any specific location or department.

👆This screenshot shows what permissions are available for HR admins.

Add an HR Admin with limited permissions

To addd an HR Admin with limited permissions, go to the Admin settings tab in Eddy. On the Permissions  page you'll see a list of users with owner or admin permissions. To add a new admin, click the Add an admin button in the top right corner.

👆The arrow points to the Add an admin button.

After clicking the Add an admin button you can enter the name of the new admin and select them from the dropdown list.

On the next screen you can select the admin roles you want to assign to the new admin. When HR admin is selected, you'll see that the role initially allows for all locations and all departments.

You can click on the All departments (or All locations) tag to show a dropdown that allows you to pick one or multiple departments. When a department is unselected (in the image below only Operations is selected), the user's access to the unselected departments is restricted, and the HR admin role will only apply to the selected department(s).
