Missouri Department of Revenue Registration Steps
1. Combined registration for a state withholding and unemployment
- Go to the Missouri Department of Revenue - My Tax Portal
- Click Start Registration Here
- Agree to terms and conditions
- Complete application
Update your Eddy account with your Withholding State ID and Online New Business Registration your Unemployment Employer Account Number. Your account numbers are required for all Missouri interactions to ensure your accounts are accurate.
Missouri State Withholding Income Tax
1. Create a username and password
- Go to MyTax Missouri
- Select Create An Account
- Select Administrator for my individual or business account
- Agree to terms
- Create User Profile
- Select yes to acknowledge you are authorized to register
- Confirmation will populate and you will receive a confirmation email on how to log on and access your account
- The email will include a temporary password and prompted to change password on your initial log in
- Add security questions and answers
- You will receive an email once password is successfully changed
- Go back to MyTax Missouri to assign your business account to your online account with user ID and permanent password
- Select “manage accounts”
- Select “I would like to give access to MyTax Account, using information from my business tax account”
- Enter business account information
- Select yes to acknowledge you are authorized to make changes

State Unemployment Income Tax (UI)
1. Create a username and password
- Go to UINTERACT
- New Account Registration
- I am an employer and have a DES Employer Account Number
- Complete employer signup

City of Kansas City Missouri
1. Register for local earned income tax

Go to Kansas City Quick Tax website
- Under Businesses and individuals select Register Here
- Enter ID information
- Select yes to sign up for quick tax and to register new accounts
- Under Who are you signing up, Select “my business” and complete remaining steps
2. Provide check with Kansas City Letter ID
In order for Check to file and pay your City of Kansas City Earnings Tax on your behalf, you will need to provide Check with your Letter ID. You can find it on the top-right corner of letters that you have received from the City of Kansas City, Finance Department within the last year.
- Sign into Quick Tax website
- You can find it by clicking the "Letter" tab.

City of St. Louis Missouri Local Earning Tax
All businesses located in the City of St. Louis, except those exempted by law, are required to pay the Earnings Tax. Non-resident businesses, except those exempted by law, who perform work, services or business activity in the City of St. Louis are required to pay the Earnings Tax. All City of St. Louis residents are required to pay the Earnings Tax regardless of where they work. Non-residents are required to pay the Earnings Tax on work or services performed within the City of St. Louis.
There is no legal requirement to withhold on City of St. Louis residents if there is no business activity taking place in the City of St. Louis. If the business chooses not to withhold there is a legal requirement that it must report to our office all city residents. The business will need to be set up as an agency for reporting purposes only.
