What is the Eddy Time Clock app?
The Eddy Tablet TimeClock app is recommended for clients who have employees who come to a central location to work (for example, Restaurants, retail, manufacturing, warehouses, etc.) and need to have workers clock in and clock out from a central tablet or kiosk.
The Tablet TimeClock app is a native application available for iOS app store and Android play store. Learn how to set it up here.
Where to enable Facial Recognition
You can enable facial recognition in the Eddy Time Clock app by clicking the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. This lets you log in to the settings page.
The device needs to be version 1.1.7 or newer in order to support facial recognition.
On the settings page you'll find an option in the Photo capture section to Use facial recognition. Tap that option to enable facial recognition. This setting is managed at the device level, so if you have multiple devices you'll need to enable it on each device.
Clocking in with facial recognition
When the Use facial recognition setting is enabled, each time a worker clocks in or out using the device, the device will capture a photo the worker and compare it to the worker's profile photo.
If the worker is missing a profile photo or if the photo is not usable for facial comparison, the device will prompt the worker to update their profile photo. When a profile photo is updated, a notification is sent to the worker's direct manager to let them know that the profile photo was updated.
If the profile photo and the clock in photo do not match, the worker will be instructed to try again. If the clock in photo does not include a face, the worker will also be instructed to try again.
Consent notice
Prior to clocking in the device will have each worker review a consent notice and sign that notice prior to using facial recognition. A copy of the signed consent form is added to the employee's profile in the documents section.
The worker must consent to the use of facial recognition in order to clock in or out.
