Not Receiving Candidates? Here's What to Check

If your job posting has been live in Eddy for more than a few hours but you're not seeing candidates come through, there are a few common reasons this happens — and most are quick to fix. Follow the steps below to get your pipeline moving.

Step 1: Make Sure Your Job Boards Are Connected

When you create a job in Eddy, it's automatically shared out to major job boards — including LinkedIn and Indeed — within 4–6 hours. However, if your LinkedIn and Indeed accounts aren't connected in Eddy, your job postings won't be tied to your company's accounts on those platforms. This means you won't be able to manage or see the postings from within LinkedIn or Indeed directly.

To verify your connections:

  • In Eddy, go to Admin Settings → Hiring → Integrations
  • Under Indeed Account, confirm your Indeed email address is on file. If not, click Add Indeed Account
  • Under LinkedIn Account, confirm your LinkedIn email address and Company ID are entered correctly

💡 If you recently changed your Indeed or LinkedIn password, your connection may have been automatically revoked and will need to be re-authorized.

Review Your Indeed Job Posting Quality

Even if your job distributed successfully, Indeed's algorithm determines how prominently it appears in search results. Postings that don't follow best practices may receive significantly less visibility.

Review Indeed's official guidance to make sure your posting is set up for success:

Key things to double-check on your posting:

  • Job title: Use a clear, standard title — avoid internal jargon or abbreviations
  • Job description: Include specific responsibilities, qualifications, and role details
  • Compensation: Postings with salary ranges receive significantly more applicants
  • Location: Clearly specify whether the role is remote, hybrid, or on-site
  • Apply method: Confirm that Indeed is routing applicants through Eddy correctly

Boost Visibility by Promoting Your Job

Even a well-written posting can struggle in a competitive market. If you need more candidates faster, consider promoting your job through one of these options.

Promote via ZipRecruiter TrafficBoost (through Eddy) Eddy integrates directly with ZipRecruiter TrafficBoost, which increases your job's visibility in search, promotes it in candidate emails, and distributes it to 100+ additional external job boards. You can launch a boost directly from the job listing on your Hiring page, or from within the job posting itself — look for the Promote button next to ZipRecruiter. A 30-day TrafficBoost costs $299 and can be purchased using the payment method on file.

For full instructions, see: ZipRecruiter TrafficBoost

Promote via JobTarget (through Eddy) JobTarget lets you post your job to a choice of 25,000+ sites — including niche, collegiate, association, blog, newspaper, and state job boards. To get started, click the Promote button next to JobTarget within your job posting, then click Go to JobTarget. First-time users will need to connect their Eddy account to JobTarget. Once connected, you can select which job boards you'd like to post to, set a budget, and check out — Eddy does not handle JobTarget billing directly.

Sponsor directly on Indeed You can also sponsor your posting within Indeed to give it priority placement in search results. Log in to your Indeed Employer account, find the posting, and click Sponsor Job. Learn more at Indeed's Sponsored Jobs guide.
